Alias in OBIEE

BI Server offer two types of alias:
1) Physical Alias
2) Presentation Alias

Physical Alias:An Alias is a physical table with type of alias and created in physical layer of the repository and any changes in physical table are reflected in the alias.It is good practice to use alias to build the Business model in RPD.

You can join fact table to a dimension on two different keys with the help of Alias.Another use for alias tables is to resolve self join.

How to create Alias table

Right click on physical Table -> Select New Object -> Alias

Give a name to alias and then click OK

Alias table is  created  now
